Mountain Equipment Coop is one of my personal favourite stores for gift ideas. I love that the company puts emphasis on the environment and the people that work with them. From my experience, they never cheap out on materials and what I have bought from them has lasted me years (some of it I replaced just because I felt like having something newer, not because it broke!).

I always manage to find something useful for myself and they have a ton of fun gadgets in every price range imaginable. Don’t assume that MEC is not for you just because you’re not into hiking Mount Everest and extreme Kayaking – they have everything sporty imaginable, from brand name clothing to GPS watches and bike equipment.
