I came across a post on the Google blog this morning about their Street View snowmobile. The Google street view team has taken it upon themselves to head up to Whistler and the Vancouver Olympic Venues and take some amazing images of the areas, so the world can see the beauty of British Columbia and the Olympic Venues as never before. I was born and raised in BC and can attest that the Whistler area has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. This is a great opportunity for those that cannot make it to the games (most of us) to get to know the areas the Olympics are located in. Check out the cool video of how they did the filming.
Google has also set up a really neat Google Maps home page for the Olympics. They will be showcasing events, medals, venues, news, pictures from anyone who wants to upload them, and much more. I know I am bookmarking this page and coming back throughout the Olympics!
And, as always, don’t forget to buy some Olympic gear to show your spirit!
