Canadians don't have to give up camping just yet
Even though daylight savings time has ended for 2009, that doesn't mean every Canadian has to go into full-on hibernation mode. While temperatures may be dropping, it's certainly not too cold yet to give up any prospect of camping until next spring.
In other words, pop out for supplies and some new camping equipment for a fall test drive before you put it through its paces next spring. Pack up your tents and purchase that new sleeping bag and snuggle up in the great outdoors for a great autumnal camping adventure.
Camping fans in Terrace, British Columbia, can even bivouac for a cause, if they are so inclined. According to the Terrace Standard, local residents can camp out to raise awareness of a local program, ShelterBox.
ShelterBox provides temporary housing for individuals in need all around the world. Many who use this resource have lost their home due to natural disaster or other events beyond human control.
The Terrace Rotary Club is hosting an overnight camp out at the Coast Inn of the West on November 7 for camping aficionados to show their support.
