Unite with the nudists, save Echo Park

Posted by Miriam Lamey on September 25, 2009 in Clothing

Canadians who are concerned about the environment might want to consider picking up fall fashions crafted from recycled fibers or even hemp. Both are greener options and can certainly make interesting conversation points. But what about those who want to take their dedication to all things earthy one step further?

For individuals who truly care about the environment - or are just plain put off by fall fashions - they can show their support for the nudists of Echo Park, Toronto. Because the park is being sold on October 1, naturists and nudists who rent or lease their homes are at risk of being put out in the cold. There are individuals who have been living there for more than 50 years.

Some are concerned that this park will be the new home for a religious society and the new owner has already had contractors, electricians and the water company in to examine the land. The current residents, on the other hand, enjoy living in harmony with the land and minimizing their carbon footprint as much as possible.

Take inspiration from this lifestyle and look for natural, hemp fabrics, or forgo clothing altogether - the possibilities are limitless.
